Master’s Address Port Royal Scott Lodge # 591
All honor and praise to the Most High in granting strength, will, guidance and life. I welcome grace and salutations to Past Master Landrum for his guidance during our prior masonic year. May our Past Master’s continue to offer wisdom to the pillars of the Lodge. May our newly elected Wardens provide the strength and beauty to glorify Him who is able. May the Craft be enlightened, encouraged, and inspired to perform the work for our travels. Thank you all for allowing me the privilege to be your servant leader for our ensuing masonic year.
We as Master Mason take an obligation to support our Lodge and Brothers. Masons as members of the community are charged as well as expected to be pillars and maintain a standard. Let us from this moment forward accept the crown bestowed and be that leader that Lighthouse, which guides that fervent follower capable of accomplishing goals, not riddled with excuses. Let us step up and step out to be that which others seek to immulate. Let us allow the work we do speak volumes for our character as we move forward as Servant Leaders in our community. An example performing works in our Jurisdiction for all to aspire.
We are responsible Masons. We listen for the guidance of our Deity. We provide and protect our families. We produce in our established vocations. We seek to measure our gauge properly for the tasks of day. We may not get it right but seeking always to get it better. We commune with Masons for the strength of like-minded brethren to calm ourselves and erect to Him our glorious temple. We are to grow daily as men and that Lighthouse.
We are benevolent Masons. Our charity is to be a portion of talents we give to others. A measure of treasure that is utilized; be it time, finances or sweat equity to build those amongst us. Let us seek to improve the coffers of our Lodge, in order to perform the work. Our Grand Architect gives life and capabilities to each. Let us return back a portion to improve ourselves in freemasonry.
We are knowledgeable Masons. Our knowledge does not end when we arise my Brother it begins. If we are to understand who we are, we must know where we have been. Each must dedicate time and effort to improve and further the journey of maintaining proficiency in the craft. You are Master Masons and should not seek just to be taught but to READ, LEARN, COMTEMPLATE, and COMMUNICATE. Freemasonry is vast in her knowledge; she does not just give herself to you. She is to be nurtured and engaged. Study be of wisdom and show thyself approved.
Finally, brothers we are to be that Lighthouse. A tower displaying that bright Light for others, granting guidance in troubled and claim waters. A beacon of hope, a bastion of knowledge, a refuge to our own, a support to each other in good as well as the bad times. Let us dedicate ourselves to moving forward and being the vanguard. Let us renew our sprit, ourselves to be Port Royal Scott Lodge # 591
